Volunteer Workday – Frick Park: Live Tree Staking

Remember when we planted over 1,250 live stakes in Fern Hollow? Well now it’s time to help out Nine Mile Run! While we won’t be planting as many this year, we have a goal of 250 in honor of our 25th anniversary! Live stakes are cuttings from trees and shrubs that readily root when placed in wet soil. We install the stakes along the streambank to help with stabilization and to improve biodiversity.
