Urban EcoStewards: Swissvale/Hill Workday

Are you a fan of gardening and urban green spaces? Do you find yourself habitually picking up random trash on the sidewalk? 

Seems as if you might be the perfect fit for the Urban EcoStewards!  We need your help to get our public rain gardens/ green stormwater management sites into tip-top shape. Completed over the past few years, these sites require lots of weeding, trash removal, and dead-heading to look their best. 

Join us each month as we take a group of dedicated volunteers to assist with site maintenance.  Each group session will serve as training for any new volunteers, so if you’ve never joined us on a clean-up or volunteer event before, these are perfect jumping-in points. 

Plan to get a little messy and dress accordingly. Closed-toe shoes required, water-resistant or waterproof shoes recommended. Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided.
