Fall into Nine Mile Run? ❌ Fall Stream Sweep in Nine Mile Run? ✅

Every time it rains, trash & debris from Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Wilkinsburg, & Swissvale washes into Nine Mile Run. Help us clean up the stream and make it a healthier habitat for all!

We will provide gloves, safety vests, and trash bags. Trash grabbers will also be provided. We suggest wearing long pants & sturdy boots or closed-toe shoes. If you’d like to venture into Nine Mile Run, we do have a limited supply of chest-height waders. If you have tall rain boots, hip boots, or waders, please bring them so we can provide ours to those who do not. Participants should expect to get muddy and possibly wet, so please plan your attire accordingly.

Please note: While we love our furry friends over at UpstreamPgh, we kindly ask that you do not bring your pets along with you to this event.

This event is free, but donations are appreciated and help us hold events like this. We will have coffee, water, and donuts. Help us make this a low-waste event by bringing your own water bottle and/or coffee cup – we’ll have a bin to store while you’re sweeping!
