Fall Stream Sweep
It’s not easy being an urban stream – but having hundreds of humans on your side certainly helps!
Stream Sweeps carry on the long legacy of volunteers standing up for Nine Mile Run. So far this year, our stream sweepers have removed 1,508 pounds of trash! Can we reach 2,000?
We will provide gloves, safety vests, and trash bags. Some trash grabbers will be available, but are first come, first serve. Please wear long pants & sturdy boots or closed-toe shoes. If you have tall rain boots, hip boots, or waders, please bring them so we can provide ours to those who do not. Participants should expect to get muddy and possibly wet, so please plan your attire accordingly.
We meet at the Lower Frick Park Play area (soccer fields). There is a parking lot near this area, and it is accessible via the 61B bus route with a short walk.
Please note: While we love our furry friends over at UpstreamPgh, we kindly ask that you do not bring your pets along with you to this event.
This is a volunteer event and attendance is free.
Please RSVP below so we can plan efficiently for the event!
