Butterfly Safari
Join us on a safari right in our own neighborhood! On this family nature walk, we’ll be observing the fascinating world of butterflies and other insects that live along Nine Mile Run and Fern Hollow creek. We’ll start with a hands-on activity before going on a roughly 30-minute safari hike, led by guest ecologist Lexi Kronander with Civil and Environmental Consultants. We’ll view insects up close, learn about their unique life cycles and how to protect insect populations, and then we’ll get to release butterflies in the park!
All families and ages are welcome. Children must have an adult chaperone with them at all times. The hike will be along a relatively flat portion of Frick Park. There is a porta potty in the area. We’ll meet at the lower Frick Park Play area.
