Winter Seed Sowing Workshop

Want to learn about how native plants grow? Want to grow some free native plants? Then join us for our annual seed sowing winter workshop! First we’ll give a short presentation on native seeds and their germination process. Next you’ll watch us demonstrate how to build your own native seed “greenhouse”. Then you’ll get hands on and select your own seeds to prepare for the spring! These seedlings will be used in UpstreamPgh projects at our rain gardens and in Frick Park. Volunteers are welcome to take some seeds home. A follow up event will be held in May to up-pot the seedlings!
