Deconstruction vs Demolition Listening Session

The Environmental Justice Table (EJT) will host a community listening session on Wednesday, September 24th from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the Homewood Library (7101 Hamilton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15208).

Goal:  To create a City of Pittsburgh Deconstruction Policy by 2027, ensuring that Environmental Justice (EJ) communities receive fair benefits and protections.

City of Pittsburgh Deconstruction Policy
The City will establish a deconstruction policy to ensure equity in the rehabilitation of blighted Environmental Justice (EJ) communities. The policy will prioritize those most impacted and guarantee access to community resources and tools for managing waste, pollution, and environmental hazards (e.g., abandoned vehicles, tires, debris).
