Homewood North Family Reinvestment Center Rain Garden
Our team designed and built, in partnership with Landforce crew members, a bioretention/rain garden facility at the Pittsburgh Housing Authority Homewood North Family Reinvestment Center. The center is a space for residents of the housing complex to receive services.
To ensure the site and design were most appropriate, we held a charrette with the residents of the Housing Authority, who provided input on types of plants preferred, based on color and bloom schedule.
The rain garden project, completed in 2017, captures runoff from the roof through multiple downspouts and pipes it underneath hard surfaces to the infiltration area.
