Annual Report Card

Background, Why a report card

Annual Report Card

How healthy is Nine Mile Run? Every year, we produce a two-page report detailing its health and that of its tributaries. The report card is a summary assessment of key water quality parameters that grades and compares the state of the stream pre-restoration (1999-2005), immediately post-restoration (2006-2015) and in its current state (2016-2020).

Data is collected throughout the year as part of our monthly water quality monitoring effort and the grading method varies by parameter, based on state and/or federal regulations. The easy-to-understand report grades in three areas:

  • Human health: lead, bacteria, aluminum
  • Aquatic habitat support: pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen (NO3)
  • Wildlife: fish and macroinvertebrates
