Summer 2024 Stream Sweep

Every time it rains, trash & debris from Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Wilkinsburg, & Swissvale washes into Nine Mile Run. Join us for our Summer Stream Sweep and help us clean up the stream and make it a healthier habitat for all. 

We will provide gloves, safety vests, and trash bags. Some trash grabbers will be available, but are first come, first serve. Please wear long pants & sturdy boots or closed-toe shoes. If you have tall rain boots, hip boots, or waders, please bring them so we can provide ours to those who do not. Participants should expect to get muddy and possibly wet, so please plan your attire accordingly.

Please note: While we love our furry friends over at UpstreamPgh, we kindly ask that you do not bring your pets along with you to this event.

This is a volunteer event and attendance is free.

A note on parking: The Lower Frick Park parking lot is busy this time of year. We encourage you to carpool, bus, walk, or bike if you’re able. You may also find parking in the Regent Square neighborhood and walk down along Lancaster Ave/Frick Lane.
