Beaver Walk
In March, Joe Berg from BioHabitats came to Pittsburgh to consult with us about how to peacefully co-exist with the newest resident(s) of Nine Mile Run. One or more beavers have been active in the restoration area for nearly 2 years. While tree damage is a concern, the presence of beavers is a positive development for the ecosystem. Join us for a walk to see the evidence of the beavers’ presence, and learn how we are working in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh and the Parks Conservancy to manage the beaver. If we are lucky there may even be a sighting of the actual animal(s)!
Please wear comfortable shoes, as well as appropriate clothing in case of rain. Registration is required and space is limited to accommodate social distancing. All attendees are required to bring their own face mask and wear the mask throughout the event.
